Challenge 24

Standard

Friday night is spa night! Aggi and I are heading over to Eden Hall Hotel in Nottinghamshire for a very relaxing evening. We couldn’t fit in a whole day (there’s a surprise!) but we figured a night out would be a perfect end to the working week and a great start to the weekend. Photos to follow!

Getting ready for 9 & 19!

Standard

The countdown is on…in five days I will be in London with my husband (having not seen him since December!), in six days we will be in Paris for the first time and in seven days we will be sitting down to our first (and possibly only!) Michelin Star restaurant dining experience!

I cannot wait!

Challenge 17…

Standard

How on earth did this one appear?! Aggi has arranged for some of our Year 10 students to spend their first work experience week with the Royal Air Force. Those at RAF Digby will be climbing part of the Stenigot Tower and she managed to arrange for me to head to the top…!!! Just about to research how tall this tower actually is!

Challenge 20

Standard

The email finally arrived. It is official…I will be heading to London on May 28th to meet Her Majesty at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party. I’m so proud, very excited and somewhat daunted at the thought of finding an outfit and hat to suit the occasion. Time to shop and to practice my curtesy!

Challenge 18…The Ballet

Standard

The tickets are booked! I challenged my students to come and experience the ballet with me for the first time. Eight of us are ready for the experience! I’ve booked our tickets to see the Birmingham Royal Ballet perform at The Nottingham Theatre Royal on May 22nd. That’s a packed week of challenges with the ballet, CaniX and Buckingham Palace trip in eight days!!

CaniX

Standard

Another challenge is booked! Pip and I will be running a 5km Canix race in Cannock on Sunday 24th May. Pip’s harness and lead have arrived and once she has recovered from her operation, we can start training and teaching her to ‘pull’ on the harness…something I never let them do on the lead!

The challenge of Canix is for Pip not to be freaked out by lots of other dogs, to love her running and to lead me around the course to a super time. Given that she currently has a tummy full of stitches and feels rotten, we have a lot of recovery and training to get under our belts.

Lots of protein on the doggy diet this week. Ten weeks to race time. No pressure Pip!

The French Experience

Standard

Paul has been the organiser of the French-based challenges…visiting Paris and incorporating a meal at a Michelin Star Restaurant. He isn’t home from Saudi until April so he has booked a few days at Easter for us to sample the delights of this wonderful city. We have two nights at the Le Royal Monceau Raffles Hotel – http://www.leroyalmonceau.com – a truly amazing hotel, such extravagance I have never experienced before – and a table at the only Italian One Star Michelin Restaurant in France, Il Carpaccio. With a pre-trip stay in London, Eurostar to Paris and two nights in this hotel, I’m sure we will have an amazing trip. I definitely need to purchase some smarter clothes than my usual trackies and trainers so that I can blend in with the crowd!
